Ergon Bio Tank (Bio Sewage Treatment Plant )

Need for Bio Septic Tank

Introduction ;
Wastewater management is a critical aspect of environmental protection and human health. Wastewater can be broadly classified into two categories: biodegradable and non-biodegradable. Biodegradable wastewater is typically easier to treat and poses fewer risks to the environment. Septic tank waste is a prime example of biodegradable wastewater, but have you ever wondered why these wastes are not entirely biodegradable over time? In this write-up, we'll delve into the nature of septic tank wastes, their biodegradability, and the potential hazards they can pose to groundwater. Govt G.O  Posted On: 19 JUL 2022 4:26PM by PIB Delhi

Understanding Biodegradability
Biodegradability refers to the ability of organic materials to break down naturally into simpler substances through the actions of microorganisms like bacteria and fungi. Septic tank wastes are composed of organic matter from human waste, detergents, and other household products. While these substances are indeed biodegradable to some extent, the process is not instantaneous, and certain factors can hinder complete biodegradation.

Factors Affecting Biodegradation in Septic Tanks
1. Stagnation of Water: In a septic tank, wastewater undergoes a separation process where heavier solids settle at the bottom as sludge, while lighter materials float to the top as scum. In between, a clarified liquid layer exists. This separation reduces the contact between organic matter and microorganisms, slowing down biodegradation.
2. Long Retention Period: Septic tanks are designed to retain wastewater for a certain period to allow settling and partial decomposition. However, if the retention period is too long, it can lead to reduced microbial activity, resulting in incomplete biodegradation.
Hazards and Groundwater Pollution
The incomplete biodegradation of septic tank waste can lead to several hazards, primarily concerning groundwater pollution:
1. Emission of Gases: During the anaerobic decomposition of organic matter in septic tanks, gases such as carbon monoxide, methane, and nitrogen compounds are produced. If not properly vented or released into the soil, these gases can migrate into the surrounding groundwater, posing risks to both human health and the environment.
2. Nitrogen Contamination: Nitrogen compounds like ammonia, which can be present in septic tank effluent, are water-soluble and highly mobile. If they leach into the groundwater, they can contaminate drinking water sources and promote the growth of harmful algae in surface waters.
3. Pathogen Transport: Incomplete biodegradation may result in the survival of disease-causing pathogens in septic tank effluent. If this effluent infiltrates groundwater, it can serve as a source of contamination, potentially leading to the spread of waterborne diseases.
Preventing Groundwater Pollution from Septic Tank Wastes
To mitigate the risks of groundwater pollution from septic tank wastes, proper maintenance and regular pumping of septic tanks are essential. Additionally, employing modern septic system designs, such as aerobic treatment systems, can enhance biodegradation and reduce the release of harmful gases and pathogens.
Conclusion
Septic tank wastes are classified as biodegradable wastewater, but their biodegradation process is not without challenges. The stagnant nature and long retention periods within septic tanks can hinder complete decomposition, leading to the emission of gases and the risk of groundwater pollution. To protect groundwater quality, it is crucial to adhere to proper septic system maintenance and explore advanced technologies for wastewater treatment and disposal. By doing so, we can minimize the environmental and health hazards associated with septic tank waste. The main advantage of Bio Septic Tank is prevention of the spread of the disease through communities and prevention  of pollution and maintaining groundwater in a healthy and ecologically sound condition. Here were  implementing Bio sewage Treatment Plant - The  waste can be degraded as water (H2O) and Carbon dioxide (CO2) and it prevent formation of harmful gases like Sulphur Dioxide , Methane, Carbon monoxide. Sewage water, which consists of wastewater from households, industries, and commercial sources, can pose numerous dangers to both human health and the environment. Some of these dangers include:
  1. Health Risks: Sewage water contains harmful pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites, which can cause diseases such as cholera, typhoid, hepatitis, and gastroenteritis. Direct contact or ingestion of contaminated water can lead to serious illnesses.

  2. Environmental Pollution: Sewage water contains high levels of nutrients, such as nitrogen and phosphorus, which can lead to eutrophication in water bodies. This excessive nutrient load can result in algal blooms, oxygen depletion, and the death of aquatic life, disrupting ecosystems.

  3. Chemical Contamination: Sewage water often contains various chemical pollutants, including heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, and industrial chemicals. These pollutants can persist in the environment, accumulate in organisms, and pose long-term risks to human health and wildlife.

  4. Contamination of Drinking Water Sources: Improperly treated sewage can contaminate drinking water sources such as groundwater and surface water, posing significant risks to public health. This contamination can occur through seepage into wells or infiltration into rivers and lakes.

  5. Damage to Infrastructure: Sewage water can corrode infrastructure such as pipes, sewage treatment plants, and septic systems, leading to leaks, collapses, and malfunctions. This can result in costly repairs, service disruptions, and environmental contamination.

Ergon Bio Tank - Bio STP =Technical Specification :

The Ergon Bio Tank is an innovative solution that combines eco-friendliness with efficient wastewater treatment. It consists of multiple collection tank, including the initial storage or (commonly known as a septic tank) and an evaporation tank, all designed to address various aspects of wastewater management and environmental impact.

1.Ergon Bio Septic Tank (Collection and Degradation): The septic tank, typically the first stage in the system, is responsible for collecting and treating the organic matter present in wastewater. It operates through a biological process that promotes the breakdown of a wide range of organic substances found in sewage, including proteins, starches, fats, grease, carbohydrates, and certain cellulose. This decomposition process occurs naturally with the help of microorganisms(Ergon Bacterial Enzyme) present in the tank Coating & Anaerobic Process in delay resulting in the conversion of organic matter into simpler forms. Biodegradable bacterial Enzymes.
              - Odor Elimination: One significant benefit of this biological process is the natural elimination of embarrassing odors that can emanate from wastewater. The                         breakdown of organic materials reduces the production of foul-smelling gases.
             -  Mosquito Prevention: Properly maintained septic tanks also reduce the risk of mosquito breeding. The absence of stagnant water and the degradation of                              organic matter prevent the formation of mosquito larvae in the tank.

     2. Ergon Bio Evaporation Tank (Environmental Benefits): The Evaporation tank, a unique feature of the Ergon Bio Tank system, contributes to both eco-friendliness and environmental safety. Anaerobic & Aerobic Process
           - Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Compression: The Evaporation tank plays a role in raising the temperature of the surrounding earth through the compression of carbon                      dioxide. This increase in temperature aids in the natural evaporation of water from the tank.
           - Waste Degradation: The Ergon Bio Tank is designed to degrade waste primarily into water (H2O) and carbon dioxide (CO2). This eco-friendly approach helps                       prevent the formation of harmful gases such as sulfur dioxide, methane, and carbon monoxide, which are associated with conventional sewage systems or                           improperly  managed  wastewater.
          - Safety for Home and Environment: By preventing the release of harmful gases and promoting eco-friendly waste degradation, the Ergon Bio Tank system                             enhances safety for both homes and the surrounding environment.

In summary, the Ergon Bio Tank is a sustainable and efficient solution for wastewater treatment and management. It harnesses natural biological processes to break down organic matter, eliminate odors, prevent mosquito breeding, and ensures the eco-friendly degradation of waste, all while enhancing safety for both households & Projects
